What happened
The Board had received an arborist assessment prepared for a resident. It found that keeping the tree and removing it were both reasonable options.
At the meeting, three directors said they had no questions. Someone then asked for a vote for the record. A motion was made to proceed, four apparent "aye" responses followed and the meeting moved to the next item.
Why residents are asking questions
The public exchange was very brief. The recording cannot tell us what directors reviewed or discussed before the meeting. It also does not give residents a clear public explanation of which reasons or alternatives carried the decision.
For a mature tree and a decision that cannot be undone, residents deserve that explanation and a clear record of the vote.
Recording notes and timestamps
The timing below covers the audible public sequence. It does not claim to measure anything directors may have reviewed or discussed beforehand.
- A vote is requested for the record
"Do we want a Board vote for the record?"
- The motion begins
"I'll make a motion to proceed, and all in favor?"
- Affirmative voices
Four apparent "aye" responses are audible in rapid sequence.
- The meeting moves on
The next agenda item begins. From the motion to this point is about 11 seconds.
